We skipped this section of the Colorado Trail in 1999, for a
number of very good reasons...really. The dayhike chronicled in the
images below confirmed the wisdom of that decision. The hike was long
(9 hours) and quite demanding near the saddle. A thunderstorm above
timberline was our first brush with the dangers of high elevation
lightening. It was, nonetheless, a beautiful hike!
